Ranting #7

FRIDAY!!!

it's finally friday... well this week my pie was super busy to spare time for me cos he needs to study for his exam 2 weeks later... but luckily i'm sick/too tired to go anywhere... so he's still a mudpie and not a mince pie...

happen to talk to tax one fine day on msn and was telling him in a week i only know 4 days... that is MONDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY... cos u will know monday due to the monday blues... friday as it's the prelude to all the fun u gonna get on weekends and saturday and sunday cos it's days of FREEDOM!!!

but come to think of it... my weekends will be very packed... too busy in fact to type my IA report and do editing for my colleague... haiz... think have to sit down and do some time management... haiz...

***********************************

It's a day of raining diapers...

As I happen to work in a production plant for diapers... that's what i see everyday... but today in particular... (maybe i'm too free or what lah...) as the conveyor belt is not working well... it's simply raining diapers... imagine a mother of a newborn seeing all these diapers... maybe she'll be very happy... haha... all the free diapers for her to use... but if it's lele or EnEn... think they will cry or run away... (they both have sensitive skin and diapers give them rashes...)

******************************************

well well... slacking again cos it's friday... was complaining to a fellow colleague that my pay is even worse than O level grad doing temp jobs... haiz... maybe i shld come to office to sleep half a day then start doing work...
anyway... something in the papers that caught my eye today...

"A FOUR-letter expletive and another impolite word blurted out in Parliament earned new Nominated MP Ong Soh Khim a stiff admonition yesterday for 'dishonourable conduct'.

The mechanical engineering academic was apparently heard uttering the word 'shit' once and 'rubbish' several times at the close of a debate on the Education Ministry's budget on Tuesday.

.......

He said he had received several complaints from MPs that Dr Ong had, towards the end of Tuesday's sitting, 'uttered certain unparliamentary words'.

The 35-year-old had also interrupted Deputy Speaker Chew Heng Ching who was chairing the sitting then.

'Having considered the words unparliamentary, it amounts to dishonourable conduct. She has also breached the Standing Orders for interrupting the chair,' said Mr Abdullah sternly.
...

Looking discomfited, Dr Ong read out her apology tersely, from a prepared sheet.

'I'm new and I have not been long in this House. I wish to apologise to the House, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker for use of any language not suitable for this House last evening,' she said.

She left shortly after, skipping her slot to ask two questions she had earlier filed on manpower issues.
...

Dr Ong had earlier put up a spirited argument against university fee hikes.

The last time an MP had to apologise in the House for unparliamentary language was in 1995.

Then-opposition MP Ling How Doong had directed the words 'talk cock', 'bastard' and 'asshole' at fellow opposition MP Chiam See Tong when Parliament was debating a censure motion on the Singapore Democratic Party and its chief, Dr Chee Soon Juan."

It must be interesting to sit in the House to hear those unparliamentary language... but did the MPs or whoever that attends the Parliament actually have to learn certain parliamentary language or certain vocab to use specially in Parliament... no wonder not everyone can be a MP... hmmmmm....

another article from yesterday made me more determined to 减肥...

"Ms Choi, whose waist measures 21 inches, is one of the participants in The Slimmest Waist competition, one of 12 competitions to be staged at the three-day Shin Min Daily News Record-Setting Carnival which starts tomorrow at Suntec City.

However, she was not always this svelte. In 1998, she weighed more than 70kg when she was pregnant with her first child. Her doctor told her then that she was in danger of suffering from weight-related illnesses such as diabetes.

So she started on a regime to lose weight. It included dieting and jogging for about 45 minutes, three times a week. And she kept at it for about three years. Tomorrow, Ms Choi, who weighs 40kg now, will be put to the test in a beauty pageant-style event to determine the winner......"

well well... think it's time for me to set my target at 45kg and waist of 23 first... haha... if one fine day i manage to achieve that... i will join Ms Universe... haha...

also a very interesting article: How will men cope without women? StraitsTimes Interactive

" LONDON - IN AN experiment designed to test out one of the oldest arguments in the battle of the sexes, a British village is to be temporarily stripped of its womenfolk to see if the men are able to cope.

The stunt will be carried out in Harby, a tiny community in northern England, and filmed for a BBC television 'reality' series called The Week The Women Went, The Times newspaper reported yesterday.

Eighty women will be put up at a hotel for seven days, leaving their husbands and sons to grapple with babies, washing and shopping.

The BBC has described the forthcoming series as 'an intriguing social experiment', but some locals are less sure, the report said.

Such is the worry that the village - and especially its men - might be portrayed in a bad light, the entire population is to hold an emergency meeting, The Times said.
The producer of the series told the paper that while some men were expected to cope well, in other households 'domestic chaos will ensue'. -- AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE
